Abstract:

The purpose of this report is to examine the validity and reliability of instruments designed to measure student algebra content knowledge for IES grant # R305B070430. These instruments, called content tests, were created to measure growth in key algebra concepts, and problem solving with algebra content. The grant proposal, Democratizing Access to Core Mathematics Across Grades 9-12, describes the purpose of the content tests as, “comprised of standardized test items to measure student’s mathematical ability and problem-solving skills before and after each intervention.”
