2014-2015 Research To Practice Institute: Hands-On And Language-Rich Inquiry Science In Elementary And Middle Grades

This workshop will introduce elementary and middle grades teachers with the strategies to use everyday materials to engage in hands-on and language-rich inquiry science practices not only in science content area, but across the disciplines. In addition to strategies related to new NGSS science practices, teachers will be presented with the newest research about students who come from diverse backgrounds, such as English language learners, and how to build on their understandings of science and their language competence simultaneously.
